Terms & Conditions

Craft Carpentry builds custom doors and wood products. Our products are custom made from natural materials. It is acknowledged and understood that no tree is perfect.  Each tree is unique and subject to defects and variations from the time it emerges as a seedling to the last stages of seasoning.  A defect is simply an abnormality or irregularity found in wood.  Craft's products are not factory made.  Craft produces unique, custom, handcrafted products which can have minor variations in dimensions, and can vary from sample to sample, making it impossible to guarantee exact color/stain/finish matching.  Craft reserves the right to make such minor changes to design, dimensions and other materials as required to make a unique, custom, handcrafted product without prior notice.

Please note that wood doors are susceptible to expanding and contracting due to temperature and moisture (rain and humidity) based on location, exposure to the elements and environment. The natural state of steel is vulnerable to oxidation with exposure to the moisture (rain and humidity). We provide a quality built product and we offer finishes with a warranty to protect the wood and metal. You, the customer, are responsible to understand the warranty, make sure that your application, location and environment are conducive to wood and/or steel products. Craft is not responsible for changes in the doors or finishes (warping, seperating, splitting, expanding, contracting, rust or fading) due to these conditions.

  • All interior doors and hardware are intended for interior use only and are not warrantied against exterior use.

  • Interior products come with a limited warranty that covers the functionality of our products.

    • This warranty does not cover finishes, cosmetic discoloration, damage, improper installation or normal wear. We will replace any part that fails to function properly with the return of the failed product. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customers.

  • Exterior doors come with a 1 year limited functional warranty.

    • Exterior doors need to be appropriately protected from excessive exposure to the elements, heat and moisture. This is most effectively done with a sufficient overhang or portico. Doors that are determined to not be sufficiently protected with an overhang and doors that are showing finish issues or changes due to the install location and environment are not covered under warranty. Please see our recommendations here.

    • The limited warranty covers manufacturer's defects or failures of the door to functionally perform, but does not cover damage or breakdown due to exposure to the elements. The warranty does not cover finishes, cosmetic discoloration, improper installation or normal wear.

    • Warping is defined as doors that are out of alignment of more than 1/4″ over an 8’ length.

  • All doors that are finished and assembled by CRAFT come with a 30-day warranty against warping, separating or splitting.

  • Cottage Barn Door Kits do not have a warranty. These doors only have metal side styles. There is no top or bottom rail.

  • Unfinished and primer white doors, kit doors & headers do not have a warranty against warping, separating or splitting.

  • Recommendations for unfinished doors:

    • Please finish/seal your unfinished doors immediately. Changes in climate, temperature and humidity can cause doors that are not finished to warp, separate or split.

    • It is strongly advised that customers finish/seal all 6 sides of an unfinished door within 5 days of receiving the door to reduce the likelihood of an issue.

    • Incorrect finishing of a door can also cause warping, separating or splitting, which is why we highly encourage our customers to allow us to finish and ship their door finished.

  • Lead times and delivery are best estimates based on production schedules at time of order and are subject to change.  Craft shall not be responsible for delays in production or costs related to late deliveries or installations.
